This is my most successful image because it demonstrates back lighting and emphasizes the different patterns in the leaf. By using this method, the leaf gains a transparent look which highlights the swirls and patterns. The most challenging part of this assignment was finding varying subjects to photograph. I love nature so I took a lot of pictures of things like plants, but I'd like to broaden my horizons. In the future, I will try to find other subjects by going to different places or using varying props.

"I really love this picture! I think it's amazing that you were able to find multiple categories just in this single picture, like the high perspective, complementary colors, and background control. I think photographing the sushi on a dark, plain surface really makes the colors pop! If you had taken this picture from any other angle or perspective, the colors would not have been as eye catching. Amazing picture!"

Hello Emma, I think your leaf picture is very cool and the amount of detail you were able to get in your picture is great. It kind of reminds me of a high quality picture you would see on the front of a science nature magazine.

I love this picture of the leaf! The lighting is amazing which allows for a lot of the detail in the leaf to be shown. I love being able to see the little bug, which means the focus is amazing in the image. I think it would be cool to capture this image with some water droplets as well!

Howdy Emma,
The photo that you took of this leaf is fantastic! The lighting really brings into view the texture and patterns that would have otherwise been missed, while the transparency adds depth to make the image alive. The focus is perfect for the drawing of attention to the veins of the leaf and the soft swirls. Great work on this image overall!
